My son caught his foot on our downspout edge. Four stitches later, I had one thought: How is something this dangerous on every house? That injury became a utility patent, thousands of safer homes, and a product available nationwide.
Built in a Minnesota Garage.
I searched for a product to cover those sharp edges. Nothing existed. So I made one. In my garage in Minnesota, I started designing, testing, and redesigning. I was determined to create something simple and affordable.
A few prototypes later, I had it: a simple, push-on cap that covered sharp edges completely. No tools. No hardware. No hassle. Just press it over the edges and you're done. The first SpoutTrim was born.
