Loosen the channel
Before you begin, walk your fingers around the inside of the cap to loosen the channel. This makes installation easier.
Start on one corner
Position the cap on any corner of the downspout opening and press down firmly.
Work your way around evenly
Gently press each side down in sequence, working around all four sides.
Push until fully seated
Press along the bottom edge until the cap sits flush. A snug fit is correct, it is designed to grip and stay.
Why is it so tight?
The snug fit is intentional. It keeps the cap securely in place through all weather conditions once installed.
Will it stay on?
Yes, the material is designed to grip the downspout edge firmly once fully seated.
What if it still won't go on?
